By making a donation to the Bridge Project, you invest in the futures of youth and families living in Denver’s public housing neighborhoods.
The Bridge Project’s relationship to the University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work is unique. Bridge is the only direct service program of its kind in the nation under the auspices of a graduate school of social work. In 1991, DU Chancellor Dan Ritchie put forth an initiative for departments in the University to use their collective talent to address social issues facing the Denver community. In response, the Graduate School of Social Work (GSSW), the Denver Housing Authority (DHA) and an individual donor decided to bring education, social and career resources and opportunities to Denver’s inner-city youth and their families. Thus began the Bridge Project. For thirteen years, Bridge has been providing educational, social and career resources and opportunities to children and families living in Denver’s public housing neighborhoods.
Although the Bridge Project is under the 501(c)3 determination of the University of Denver, Bridge operates much like an independent non-profit, raising 100% of our own funding for the program.
A donation to the Bridge Project will go directly to the four programs at Bridge: after-school, summer, scholarship and adult and family. You may even be entitled to the Enterprise Zone or Child Care Colorado state tax credits with a donation to Bridge. If you would like to designate your donation to a specific program, or would like to make a memorial or honorary gift, please contact us at 303-871-7405 for further details.
