Elvis is a 5th grader at Greenlee Elementary School. He has been attending Bridge for the past three years. His favorite aspect of Bridge is the science programming because they "get to discover new stuff." When he grows up he wants to be "a football player and a rapper."
Abdifata is a 2nd grader who has been participating at Bridge since he was in ECE. His favorite class is Computers because they learn how to do cool things with technology. When Fata grows up he wants to be an FBI agent.
Alexandra is in the 4th grade. She has been participating in Bridge for 3 years and her favorite part is when she gets to do yoga. When she grows up, she wants to be a teacher.
This is Thong, a 5th grader at Schmitt Elementary School. He has been coming to Bridge for 2 ½ years and loves to come to play with his friends. Thong isn't sure what he wants to be when he grows up, but he knows he wants to help people who are poor.
Raghad has attended programs at Bridge since the 2nd grade; she's currently in the 5th grade at Valverde Elementary School and wants to be a doctor when she's older. Raghad says "I like Bridge because it's a place of education and just to enjoy yourself". What Raghad likes most at Bridge is participating in Second Step with Ms. Maria and Cooking Group with Mr. Samuel. She also enjoys getting together once a week with her tutor and reading. During the summer months Raghad looks forward to the weekly field trips.
Meet Sulekho! She's eleven years old, attends West Leadership Academy as a 6th grader and started participating at Bridge in the RISE program when she was just four years old. Sulekho likes to be involved in all Bridge activities including homework help. Her top three groups are Girl's Group, YELL, and STEM. She likes Girl's Group because of all the cool things that they do, YELL because she enjoys learning stuff and STEM because of the science experiments. She also enjoys the summer program at Bridge for the field trips. Sulekho states "When I grow up I want to be a pediatrician and help babies."
This is Betheny. She is in the 2nd grade at IAM Academy. She likes sports, singing, and dancing. Her favorite thing about Bridge is all the different classes. She wants to be a ballerina when she grows up.
Arbay is currently in the 5th grade and joined Bridge after participating in Miracles on Ice last summer. It was the first time she had ever ice skated. Although she struggled in the beginning to get used to all of the gear and to the techniques involved, she built her confidence and was able to take part in the game at the end of the week! At school, Arbay loves math and wants to be a lawyer because "it seems like a fun and interesting job." She loves to hang out with friends at Bridge and the Boys and Girls Club, as well as sing along with Adele.
