It's All About Relationships
Getting involved with The Bridge Project is a great way to make a difference - in your community, with a child, and even yourself. You will come away with a profound sense of respect for the children you work with and a wonderful sense of knowing you added to a child’s life.
Volunteers play a critical role in the Bridge Rpjoect. Over 700 active adult volunteers committed time and energy to the Bridge Project during 2005-2006. Volunteers served in many differnt programs from the mentoring program to the summer program to the all volunteer board of directors.
Mentor
Becoming a Bridge Project mentor will bring joy, tears, and fun into your life. The Bridge Project matches a caring adult with a child to serve as an adult friend, role model, and a good listener. A mentor spends about four to six hours each month in an activity with their mentee and stays in touch on a weekly basis via phone. If you are considering the mentor position, The Bridge Project believes in the value of long-term relationships, and thus seeks a minimum commitment of one calendar year, preferably multiple years.
