Bridges to the Future education events shown on Rocky Mountain PBS
The University of Denver partnered with Rocky Mountain PBS to offer the 2008-09 Bridges to the Future events to a wider audience. The one-hour specials focused on the theme, "A Nation Still at Risk: The Future of Education."
"The education theme was important to so many people," says Jim Berscheidt, associate vice chancellor for University Communications and executive producer of the PBS series. "We're grateful to Rocky Mountain PBS for partnering with DU to bring the three programs to others in the state who couldn't attend in person."
Author, educator and activist Parker Palmer, was featured in the special which aired in December 2008. In April, PBS aired a discussion by a panel of experts on K-12 reform. Then, in June the station featured a one-hour special on popular science author Steven Berlin Johnson, who wrote Everything Bad is Good For You: How Today's Popular Culture is Actually Making us Smarter.
