Crown Lane Chronicles

"Crown Lane Chronicles" goes behind the scenes in Crown Lanes, a Denver bowling alley with a large and dedicated league following. The film focuses primarily on Roy Norbaum, the alley's owner, who acts as a guide through the alley and the trials he faces while running it. With occasional input from Fred Whaley, one of the mechanics at the alley, Roy tells the story of how he came to own the alley, and of the dangers and rewards of the remarkably difficult-to-maintain business.

The film also features an in-depth look at the complex machines that set the pins and return the balls, a fascinating system that many bowlers have never seen but all rely on.
