PRESIDENTAL POLICYMAKING

A unique three (3) quarter course explores the presidential nomination process, presidential general election and presidential transition and the creation of public policy.

This foundational course reviews the core policy values of America and how they impact the creation of public policy in modern America

This class examines the influence of faith and religion on the American public policy and political process.

PRESIDENTIAL POLICY

The objective of this course was to discover and analyze how U.S. Presidents create, convey and implement their public policy agendas.

2003

INSIDE THE COLORADO STATE LEGISLATURE

The course enabled the policy student to view the legislative process as a true insider.  The students acted as staff and researched public policy issues, helped draft legislation and interacted with legislators of both parties.  The course followed the legislature in "real time" and gave students an idea of how professional staff members work.

THE EVOLUTION OF AFRICAN AMERICAN POLICY

The course explored African American history from a public policy and political perspective.  The goals of the class were that the students would leave with an understanding of African American policy and political history, the ability to comprehend the importance and impact of African American policy and politics in the shaping of America and a clearer understanding of their personal feelings about race in America and their environment.

This class explores the different perceptions between African Americans and whites with respect to the critical public policy issues facing America

The course aimed to provide students with an understanding of the creation of public policy in major cities.

This class examined the new public policy area of Homeland Security.  Students developed a clear understanding of the myriad of issues that face the federal government, state governments and local governments.
