Stop-Out ProgramThe DU Stop-Out program is designed to allow students to take a leave of absence. By enrolling in the Stop-Out program, you will be formally withdrawing from the University. However, if you return within four academic quarters, you will be readmitted and allowed to register for classes with your classmates during priority registration. One quarter before your scheduled return, we will send you an Application to Re-Enter. Upon receipt of that form, we will mail registration materials to the address that you specify on your Stop-Out application. You will then be able to register by phone after your assigned registration time. You can also mail or fax your registration materials back to us. If your address should change while you are away, please contact us with your new information. Also, if you choose to return to DU early, or want to know about the possibility of extending your leave of absence, please contact us. Our address, phone and fax numbers, and email address are: Academic Advising The process of completing the Stop-Out application is very important. Finally, the information you give us will be kept strictly confidential. While we do use your responses on the application and survey for research purposes, your name and student number will never appear on any reports. Your honesty and openness in completing the application is appreciated. The information you supply will be used to create programs and opportunities that will make DU and even more exciting and rewarding place. Good Luck! We look forward to your return.
