Policies and Procedures

Academic Policies and Procedures are the set of rules that define appropriate academic behavior here at DU.  These rules are designed to ensure that everyone within our community is operating under a common set of expectations, expectations which are both fair and ethical.  They are, therefore, an important part of the undergraduate experience.

Contact Jo Calhoun, Associate Provost, Student Life,  or her staff for more information regarding:

  • Academic Policies:  residency, transfer credit, grades, independent study courses, and petitions for exception to policy.
  • Degree Requirements: requirements for the various baccalaureate degrees offered at DU.
  • Academic Standards: academic standards, academic good standing, academic probation, and the academic honor principle and the student honor code.

The University's Honor Code goes hand in hand with its academic policies, extending the idea of ethical action to everyone in the DU community.  For more information on the Honor Code, visit http://www.du.edu/honorcode
