The Employer Advisory Board includes a diverse group of employers representing the business, industry, education and government sectors. Their mission is to:
- Help promote DU Career Services through public acknowledgement with professional connections and networks.
- Assist the staff in the identification or expansion of employment opportunities for students and alumni.
- Participate in activities and events sponsored by DU Career Services.
- Provide feedback regarding the services offered by DU's Career Services.
- Offer input and advice regarding the development/review of brochures, website, social media and other marketing strategies as it relates to services for employers.

Tom Deany, Vice President of Marketing, Ball Aerospace, Boulder, CO
Tom Deany has been with Ball Aerospace in Boulder since 2006. Previously he was Vice President of Human Relations at Leprino Foods, Coors, Kraft Foods and Miller Brewing.
Kristin Dickey, Senior Vice-President, Human Resources & Organizational Development at Square Two Financial, Centennial, CO
Kristin is a results-driven HR executive with more than 15 years experience focused on providing the highest level of business partnerships for a wide variety of client groups.
Renny Fagan, Former Colorado state legislator and President and CEO of the Colorado Nonprofit Association, Denver, CO
Renny joined the Association in March 2009. With almost 1,400 member nonprofit organizations statewide, the Association provides capacity building resources and technical assistance to members and advocates on behalf of the entire nonprofit sector.
Previously, Fagan served as the State Director of Colorado-based staff for U.S Senator Ken Salazar and briefly for Senator Michael Bennet. Fagan was a Deputy Attorney General for Attorney Generals Ken Salazar and John Suthers, managing attorneys providing legal services to elected officials and state agencies. Under Gov. Roy Romer, Fagan was the Executive Director of the Colorado Department of Revenue. He began his public service as a three-term state legislator from El Paso County. A Colorado native, Fagan grew up in the Pikes Peak region and has resided in the Denver Metro area for the last 20 years.
Matthew Gordon, PhD, Chair, University of Denver Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering, Ritchie School of Engineering and Computer Science.
Dr. Gordon is the faculty representative to the Employer advisory Board. He has spearheaded DU's Engineering Co-Op Program.
Dr. Gordon obtained his PhD in Mechanical Engineering in 1992 from Stanford University and is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Colorado. His research areas include numerical and experimental plasma physics, chemical and physical vapor deposition, electronicpackaging, and bio-medical engineering.
He has supervised to completion MSME and PhD students and has authored numerous publications. He is responsible for funds from 52 separate proposals totaling almost $6,500,000. Courses taught include undergraduate finite
elements, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and engineering
economics and ethics, and graduate finite elements, numerical methods,
thermodynamics, statistical mechanics, plasma fundamentals and gas dynamics.
Pat Hamill, CEO, Oakwood Homes, Denver, CO

Patrick H. Hamill is Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of Oakwood Homes, LLC. In addition to Oakwood Homes, Pat's other business affiliations include: Town and Country Title and Insurance, Green Valley Ranch Golf Club, Precision Building Systems and PKK Investments. He is a Past Chairman and current board member emeritus of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver, Trustee of the University of Denver, Chairman of the Colorado Open Golf Foundation, Chairman and Board Member of Colorado Concern and serves on the board of HealthOne. He is also Co-Chairing the Governor's Early Childhood Leadership Commission. Additionally, Pat has co-founded two community development organizations in the greater Denver area: The Foundation for Educational Excellence and the 21st Century High Tech Academy. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Denver's School of Real Estate and Construction Management.
Oakwood homes celebrated their 20th year in the home building business in 2011, as well as building their 10,000th home.
Lana Hubble, College Relations Director, Fidelity Investments, Westlake, TX
As the College Relations Director I serve as the primary point of contact in the management of Fidelity’s strategic university relationships within a designated geographic region (southwest; TX, CO, NM, CA, & UT) In alignment with Fidelity’s workforce strategy and various business plans, I am responsible for developing and maintaining a strong brand with target schools in order to provide access to top students, deepen academic partnerships, and to form mutually beneficial long-term relationships. Due to the wide range of careers that Fidelity Investments offers to students and alumni, I have the opportunity to engage with a variety of groups and organizations across campus, in addition to the very dedicated Career Services departments across the schools. When not on campus or at work in our Westlake, TX office, you will typically find me on the sideline cheering on my children in their many activities and events.

Jane Mall, University of Denver, Director of Employer Relations, Chair
Jane received a B.A. in Finance from Aurora University and an M.S. from Northern Illinois University (NIU) in Adult and Higher Education with an emphasis on Human Resource Development. Jane has several years of corporate experience in the software sales industry and has owned and operated two small businesses. She also was a tax preparer for several years. Prior to joining DU, she spent 11 years as Director of Corporate Relations and Director of the Experiential Learning Center (ELC) at NIU's College of Business.
Jane has a passion for creating opportunities for students and alums. She enjoys building relationships with corporations and non-profits to help them accomplish their hiring plans with qualified, worthwhile candidates. By having many career paths in her life, she can relate to a variety of students, alums, and employers.

Julia Nelson, Assistant Director of Employer Relations, University of Denver
Julia serves the Career Center as the Assistant Director, Employer Relations. Previously she worked as the Recruiting Specialist on the Human Resources team at DU, helping on-campus teams navigate and facilitate the search and selection process for open faculty and staff positions. Prior to joining DU, Julia had a variety of experience in training, human resources, higher education, and recruiting at Academic Impressions, First Western Financial, and Infosys Technologies. She is happy to return to her roots as a higher education professional--she began her career in Admissions at the Culinary Institute of America. Julia graduated with a B.S. in Human and Organizational Development from Vanderbilt University, followed by a MEd. in Higher Education Administration also from Vanderbilt.
Valerie Rector, Director of Corporate Talent Acquisition at Dish Network, Denver, CO
Valerie Rector is currently the Director of Corporate Talent Acquisition for DISH. She graduated with a BS in Accounting from the University of Denver and began her professional career as a CPA with Arthur Andersen. After several years in audit, she transitioned into Human Resources to follow her true passion. Valerie managed campus recruiting for both Arthur Andersen and KPMG and worked in Organizational Development with First Data Corporation. She is a motivated leader able to produce accurate and efficient results in challenging environments.
Audrey Southard, Senior Vice President, Process Improvement at Follett Corporation, Chicago, IL
Audrey Southard's career has been predominantly in the Human Resource arena since her graduation from Northern Illinois University in 1985. Audrey has been at Follett Higher Education Group (FHEG) since 1999 as SVP Human Resources. Her responsibilities grew to include leading the company's Communication, Procurement , Facilities and Loss Prevention functions.
This past April, 2013 Audrey was appointed to a newly created business transformation role reporting to the President and CEO of Follett and the FHEG Division President and COO.
