Dan was born at an early age, in the great city of Chicago, Illinois. Once getting over the realization that he would never be a Super Bowl-winning quarterback, he decided it might be a good idea to earn a degree of some sort.
So he got two: a BA in English ('94) and an MS in Library and Information Science ('96), both from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Again, reality forced a harsh awakening upon our hero, as he discovered that librarians didn't make the Big Bucks. So, he went into higher education instead.
After completing nine (!) tours of duty at UIUC, Dan moved on to Indiana State University and then Illinois State University, where he spent five years as Assistant Director of Student Dispute Resolution Services.
Dan has served as Parliamentarian for the Association for Student Judicial Affairs (ASJA), and been on the faculty of the Gehring Institute since 2005. He is also certified in mediation and can sing all six verses of Rule, Britannia. He lives in Castle Rock with his cat, his wife, and her dog.

Kristin was born in the land of spuds, also known as Idaho. At a young age, she realized a world existed beyond the potato fields. When the time came to leave home, she headed to New Hampshire to attend college.
At UNH she worked as an RA and found she really enjoyed working with college students. After completing a BA in Political Science from UNH, she decided to continue her work with students as a Hall Director at SNHU for several years. During this time, she met and married her baseball-crazed husband (Go Red Sox!), Mike.
She so enjoyed her work with college students that she decided to go back to college for another degree. While working on her MA at DU, Kristin worked as a Grad Residence Director in J-Mac for a year and then worked as a Grad Assistant in the CCS Office. Kristin graduated in June 2004 with a MA in Higher Education, and shortly afterwards was hired to work as our Assistant Director.
Kristin has a son, Connor, who is an energetic 2-year-old and truly a joy in her life. If you stop by her office, you will see lots of pictures of this little guy, who can do no wrong in the eyes of his mom!
Kristin’s proudest accomplishment (aside from Connor) is her recently published book, Campus Conversations: A Book of Questions for College Students. Written along with three other DU alumnae, the book is designed for college students to think about how they would react to a variety of hypothetical situations. She hopes it will be a book that students enjoy!

Rachel is originally from the frozen tundra known as Wisconsin. As proud as she is to be a cheese head, she wanted to experience life outside of the Midwest and decided to go to college at the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY.
Once there, Rachel realized she was a computer geek at heart and got her degree in Information Technology. When not in the computer labs, she was active in her sorority, Greek life, and Student Government. She is still fondly remembered as the RIT BBQ Queen for her tireless dedication to burger flipping (even in 10 degree weather.)
Five years later, Rachel decided to rekindle her relationship with the sun and moved to Denver, CO. After spending two years working with computers, she decided her real passion was higher education and enrolled in the MA program at DU. She is currently scheduled to graduate in June 2008. In her spare time, Rachel likes to golf, go to baseball games and root for the Packers.
