18th University Chancellor

About the Search Process

In January 2014, University of Denver Chancellor Robert Coombe announced that he would be retiring from his post effective June 30.

In response, the University formed a 13-member search committee, which included members of the Board of Trustees, faculty and administration. The committee engaged the assistance of Storbeck/Pimentel, one of the premier search consultants to higher education institutions.

The committee sought feedback from students, faculty, staff, alumni and other community members through a series of online and on-campus open forums and through email. This feedback was used to inform the recruiting and selection process.

After a months-long process of recruiting and interviewing candidates, Rebecca Chopp, PhD, was announced as the new chancellor-elect on June 12, 2014.

Questions and comments from the DU community are still welcome. Please email them to chancellorsearch@du.edu.
