- All RMATS participants MUST register with RMATS before registering with the test company, regardless or whether they are returning students. This is critical in ensuring that RMATS receives test scores to allow students full program benefits.
- Submit a completed RMATS application and $35 talent search fee to the RMATS office by the appropriate deadline. For those requesting the EXPLORE test, the additional $30 test fee needs to be sent along with the RMATS application and talent search fee.
- The RMATS office mails ACT/SAT test registration materials to the student’s home once the completed RMATS application is processed by the RMATS office. Processing can take up to one week.
- If taking the SAT/ACT, once the test registration packet is received (the second mailing you will acquire that includes test company materials such as the bubble sheet), the student must complete the test application and mail it with the test fee to the test company. The test fees are: SAT ($43) and ACT ($30). Remember, the SAT/ACT test fees are paid to the test company, not to RMATS. Note: students 13 years of age or older may register for both the ACT and SAT test online, making sure to enter the RMATS code in the college/scholarship section.
- An admission ticket confirming the test date and location will be mailed to the student’s home.
- Students are strongly encouraged to review the test format, time limits, and sample questions, included in the preparation info inside the registration packet.
- On the test day, the students must take the RMATS Identification Card (found in the directions packet that comes with ACT/SAT test registration materials) and admission ticket to the test site.
- Test results are sent to both the student and the talent search office approximately 4 – 6 weeks after the test.
- In April, students receive the RMATS Summer Opportunities Guide and RMATS Interpretive Guide. Students who test by February 23rd and achieve eligible SAT, ACT, or EXPLORE scores will also be invited to the RMATS state awards ceremonies (CO, NV, & UT only for 2008).
