Dr. Jeanne Abrams

Professor at the Penrose Library and the Center for Judaic Studies at the University of Denver

 

Since 1982 she has been the Director of the Beck Archives and Rocky Mountain Jewish Historical Society, part of the University of Denver’s Center for Judaic Studies and Penrose Library. Abrams is the author of numerous scholarly and popular books and articles, including the acclaimed Jewish Women Pioneering the Frontier Trail: A History in the American West published by New York University Press. Her most recent book is Dr. Charles David Spivak, A Jewish Immigrant and the American Tuberculosis Movement, which was published by the University Press of Colorado in 2009.

Following on the Summer 2009 publication of her new book, Dr. Jeanne Abrams, director of the Rocky Mountain Jewish Historical Society and Beck Archives, presents this year’s annual Livingston Lecture on the amazing life and times of Dr. Charles Spivak.
