The Great Hamantasch-Latke Debate
is On!
Certain disagreements rage on. Does a zebra have white stripes on black, or black stripes on white? Which came first, the chicken or the egg? And while we are on the subject of food, which best captures Judaism's gastronomic gestalt, the hamantasch or the latke?
The last of these questions will be entertained at the Buntport Theater, Sunday, February 28 at 7:30 p.m. Attempts to rank the cuisines of Chanukah and Purim, is a lot to chew on. It will bring together scholars from the Center for Judaic Studies (CJS) at the University of Denver, Buntport players, students and concerned citizens in the age-old debate over the merits of two foods loaded with symbolism and calories.
Latkes and hamantaschen will be available for noshin'!
Ticket prices are 'by lottery' at the door:
$5, $6, or $7
depending on what card you pick!
