Undergraduate
The Judaic Studies minor, or the Judaic Studies concentration as part of several majors, contributes to students’ liberal education. Many of the Judaic studies courses may be used to meet the elective requirements of various degree programs. Because the Judaic Studies program combines courses from several disciplines and departments, a concentration in Judaic Studies is useful for students majoring in or intending to pursue graduate studies in related disciplines, such as History, Literature, Philosophy, Religious Studies and Language Arts.
Requirements for Minor
There are two core requirements to complete the Judaic Studies (JUST) minor. (1) Students must demonstrate proficiency in Hebrew language equivalent to one year (JUST/HEBR 1001, 1002, 1003). (2) Students must additionally complete approved Judaic Studies courses equivalent to no fewer than 20 credit hours, 16 credits of which must be at the 2000-level or above. The Judaic Studies program combines courses from several disciplines and departments. Students are encouraged to combine courses that reflect the interdisciplinary nature of our program, choosing from the various departments represented by our faculty
