As you prepare to graduate, use this checklist to make your transition from student to alumnus/alumna as seamless as possible.
Graduation Checklist

Apply to graduate
If you complete your degree in summer 2013, you'll be eligible to participate in DU's summer 2013 Commencement ceremony.
Graduate students: Apply no later than two quarters before the one in which you intend to graduate.
Undergraduates: If you have questions about your graduation candidacy, please contact the appropriate University staff member.
Use our graduation application instructions (PDF) to log in to your webCentral account to apply to graduate.

Complete an exit interview with your loan provider.
If you've accepted a Direct or Stafford loan to fund classes at DU, you must complete an online exit interview.
If you borrowed a federal Perkins Loan, schedule an exit interview with the Bursar's Office at 303-871-4901. Please note: If you borrowed a Stafford and Perkins loan, you must complete an exit interview for each.

Attend your final classes, and take final exams.
Keep attending class, and take final exams to stay on track to graduate.

Rent your cap and gown.

Tell us where you're going.
The U.S. Department of Education requires us to gather information about the post-graduation plans of all DU graduates.
Spring and summer 2013 graduates: Complete our 2013 Graduate Employment Survey. Note: You may already receive and complete this survey at cap and gown rental.
Individual responses are completely confidential.

Arrive for the Commencement ceremony by 8 a.m. on Friday, August 16.
Graduating students will assemble on the lawn just west of the Daniels College of Business and north of University Hall. The ceremony will be held on Ritchie Circle Lawn, the circular green south of University Hall and east of the Mary Reed Building.

Take photos in your cap and gown.
We'll ask you to return your cap and gown immediately following Commencement, so please plan to take any photographs in your academic regalia before the ceremony.
