As you prepare to graduate, use this checklist to make your transition from student to alumnus/alumna as seamless as possible.
Apply to graduate
If you completed your degree in autumn 2013 or winter 2014 quarter, or if you're a candidate to complete it in spring 2014, you'll be eligible to participate in DU's spring 2014 Commencement ceremony.
Graduate students: Apply no later than 2 quarters before the one in which you intend to graduate.
Undergraduate students: Apply 3 quarters before the one in which you intend to graduate.
You can apply for graduation online. Learn more about applying to graduate.
Complete an exit interview with your loan provider.
If you accepted a Federal Direct or Stafford loan while attending DU, you must complete exit counseling online at StudentLoans.gov.
If you borrowed a federal Perkins Loan at DU, you must schedule an exit interview with the Bursar's Office, at 303-871-4901.
Stafford Loan exit counseling is separate from Perkins Loan exit counseling. Completing one exist interview doesn't satisfy the requirement of the other.
Attend your final classes, and take final exams.
Keep attending class, and take final exams to stay on track to graduate.
Rent your cap and gown.

You can also buy Commencement merchandise at the DU Bookstore.
Tell us where you're going.
The U.S. Department of Education requires us to gather information about the post-graduation plans of all DU graduates.
Spring 2014 graduates: Complete our 2014 Graduate Employment Survey. Note: You may receive and complete this survey at cap and gown rental rather than completing it online.
Individual responses are completely confidential.
