Academic Program
An Educational Opportunity of a Lifetime: Winter Interterm,
2010
This year is the 21st year of a very special University of Denver
experience in Costa Rica. Internationalization at DU means more than
knowing where countries are located on a map or learning a new
language. It is
a real life, hands-on experience! Our course, Culture and Politics in
Central America, in San Jose, Costa Rica, can offer you a memorable
learning experience.
You will get a chance to meet ex-Presidents of Costa Rica, and well known
people in politics, education, business and the media.* Spanish, while
helpful, isn't required.
*Nine years ago, DU students spent a wonderful afternoon
with Nobel Peace Prize
Winner, Oscar Arias.
*During a previous visit, we met with President Rodriguez!
Your Academic Major and Educational Interests
Because of the flexibility and wide-ranging nature of this course, it
is useful and relevant for all majors, both graduate and undergraduate.
The course must be pre-approved by your department for Major and Minor
use.
Special modules are available in business, health issues, etc. if there
are sufficient numbers of interested students.
