The University of Denver

The University of Denver is a private undergraduate and graduate research institution founded in 1864 by John Evans, who earlier founded Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. DU has an enrollment of about 10,000, and is ranked among the top 100 national universities by US News & World Report. The 125-acre campus is located in a residential neighborhood just minutes from downtown Denver.

DU is a campus rich in amenities: the Daniel L. Ritchie Center for Sports & Wellness, complete with natatorium and state-of-the-art workout facilities; the Lamont School of Music and the extraordinary Newman Center for the Performing Arts; and the well-stocked Penrose Library. The Department of Athletics provides a comprehensive Division 1 varsity sports program for men and women, and there are numerous opportunities for students to participate in club and intramural sports.
