Links to Other Resources One of the most profound impacts of the Internet has been the creation of communities that carry on conversations via email, blogs, wikis, and other means. Electronic Commerce is much too large and moving far too quickly for any one node, like ours, to be able to attempt to keep up on its own. Like others in the EC community, we continue to keep in touch and learn from each other. Here are some of our favorite links: The Website for the Bled (Slovenia) EC Conferences, where academics, business people, and government officials have been convening for 20 years as of June 2007, is a good site for a look at current issues, and there are links on the site to materials from previous conferences. The photo on the left is of Lake Bled with the Juilan Alps in the background. The Center participated in a world-wide network of EC academics which provides us with an essential global perspective. CollECTeR is a great example of how this can work. Roger Clarke's home page is always a kick. In addition to lots of EC information, you can also find the meaning of the lyrics to "Waltzing Matilda". The EC Center at Penn State maintains a list of other university-based EC Centers and is a good source of information in its own right. We like to refer students to CIO.com. Its Research Center's resource takes them from square one to advanced discussions of EC-and IT topics. We also kept current by subscribing to email lists from sources such as IHT Tech News, Infoweek, Computerworld, and ACM. Internet Talk Radio is a great source of information on current happenings in the Tech Sector in Colorado, as is Website of the Colorado Software and Internet Association (CSIA). And finally, our not-to be missed periodical/journal reading list, all of which have Websites as well: Business 2.0, Business Week, Communications of the Association for Computing Machinery, Communications of the Association for Information Systems, Computerworld, The Economist, Fast Company, Financial Times, Forbes, Fortune, Harvard Business Review, Information Week, and Technology Review. |
