Welcome to the Center for Teaching International Relations

CTIR is the outreach arm of the University of Denver Graduate              School of International Studies.  CTIR has a 40 year history of helping  K-12 educators teach about global affairs.

 

CTIR offers:

  • ISSA Network
    ISSA is a network of K-12 schools that are committed to promoting the study of international issues
  • Professional Development
    On-line and on-campus courses as well as AP
    * Summer Institutes for education professionals. Topics include Regional Studies, World Geography, World History, World Religions, and more.
  • Books & Resources
    Award-winning publications and instructive materials on international issues for elementary, middle school, and high school classrooms. Subject areas include social studies, science, language arts, and math.
  • World Affairs Challenge
    An innovative student program that helps middle school and high school students expand their global vision with real-world international issues. The 2008 theme is "Global Health." In January 2008, we will also have the Video World Affairs Challenge!
