LEP Peer Mentors

Over the years, the staff of the LEP has taken pride in the way they have supported students with learning disabilities and ADHD. The LEP continues that tradition with the creations of the new LEP Peer Mentoring Program. New this year to the LEP, the Peer Mentoring Program will assist incoming first-year and transfer students in successfully transitioning to their academic and social lives at the University of Denver. Incoming first-year students will be teamed with responsible returning and former LEP students trained specifically to provide support and assistance throughout the school year. This will be a wonderful opportunity for the new student to benefit from the knowledge and experience of their peer mentors who recently went through their first year experiences at DU. Mentors will provide group activities and outings for first-year students to interact with on another, as well as be a resources to facilitating new friendships, connections, and sources of support on campus. This new program will also benefit experienced students who are interested in mentoring others and empowering themselves as they share their knowledge, insights, and support.
We are excited to add the Peer Mentoring Program to the LEP’s list of resources!
