I am involved in SHAC because I am interested in health care access and SHAC is an opportunity for me to advocate for student health access and to learn about how a health center operates.

Something fun: I enjoy traveling, cooking, and rollerblading.

Education: Bachelor's in Higher Education – College Student Development

Student health is a big issue on any campus, but a lot of times students aren’t involved in that conversation. SHAC gives students with a way to have their voices heard and interact with their campus health policies – I feel like being involved in that is pretty important, and I’d like to continue to work in student health after I finish my master’s.

Something fun: I used to work concert security, and got to meet Lady Gaga’s mom while working the Monster Ball tour in Atlantic City, NJ.

1st year doctoral student

Education: Bachelor's in Communication Studies

I think student health is a valuable and imperative part of ensuring students have access to quality healthcare during their college experience. SHAC is a great way to be a part of ensuring that quality experience happens!

Something fun: I've somehow made it through undergraduate, graduate, and now doctoral school without ever taking a campus tour.

1st year graduate student

Education: Master's Degree candidate, Library & Information Science (MLIS)

I'm involved in SHAC because I want to help improve the experience of DU students when seeking information and help regarding student health issues. By acting as a liaison between students and staff, we can make sure that the Student Health Center remains a great resource for everyone in the DU community.

Something fun: I'm originally from NH, but I love living in Colorado. My interests include reading, gardening, watching sports, playing soccer, yoga, and enjoying the great outdoors.
