All students enrolled at the University of Denver for one or more hours of graded credit are required to carry health insurance coverage. Therefore, all students are required to participate in the DU SHIP unless they provide proof of other adequate health insurance.

The waiver is only available after a student registers for classes and may only be processed by the student online.

To waive the SHIP please go to www.du.edu, next click on Web Central and then My Web. Once in My Web click on Student Services then Financial Aid. Finally click on Registration. You will find the waiver in that section.

To complete the waiver fill out the student's current insurance information and click submit. A confirmation screen indicates the waiver has been processed. The student will also be sent a confirmation email. We strongly recommend the student keep a record of the transaction by either printing out the confirmation screen or saving the email.

If you accepted or declined the Student Health Insurance Plan or Health & Counseling Fee by mistake, contact HCC at info@hcc.du.edu before the deadline for the coverage period..
