Presenters:
About the topicCampuses across the country are struggling to meet the demands of an increasingly complicated health care climate (increasing mental health demand, limited campus and community resources, increasing expectations and high levels of campus risk). Over the past 1.5 years, Colorado State University has engaged in a comprehensive self-evaluation of health and counseling services and is launching a new health agency, the CSU Health Network, designed to provide highly integrated mental, physical and prevention services based on an Integrated Care Team model. As CSU re-invents campus health care, including strategic partnerships with the community, it is challenged with creating a facility that supports this new comprehensive integrative care approach. This presentation will expose participants to the integrative health care model and recount the journey to this new paradigm of health care delivery. Included will be a frank discussion of the process of identifying the model that best fits the CSU community and getting "buy-in" with existing medical and mental health staff and the entire campus community. Finally, this presentation will include a discussion of the design process that provides the creative framework for renovating or constructing the optimal functional layout that facilitates the integration of multidisciplinary teams. |
