MISSION
The Panel will undertake a comprehensive, systemic examination of Colorado’s state and local fiscal structure. The goals of this effort are to:
- Develop a comprehensive, holistic view of the state’s fiscal system;
- Build public understanding of the dynamics of the state’s financial structure; and
- Provide a platform for informed discussion of key issues and appropriate modifications.
To achieve these goals the panel intends to undertake a process that:
- Takes the long range view and does not focus on patchwork solutions or quick fixes;
- Begins by gaining an understanding of the state’s fiscal issues and does not begin with preconceived conclusions; and
- Looks at what is positive in the state’s fiscal picture as well as problem areas.
