Celine Carbullido, MA '06, Takes QRM Around the World

What are some of the things you can do with a degree in Quantitative Research Methods from the Morgridge College of Education?  Improve educational assessment tools for students with disabilities, monitor national aid policies and practices, travel around the world; or, in the case of Alum Celine Carbullido, all of the above.

Carbullido recently became a Program Evaluator for the Pacific Assessment Consortium grant (PAC 6), which examines reporting and assessment for students with disabilities in Guam (where she resides currently), Saipan, Palau, the Federated States of Micronesia, the Marshall Islands, and American Samoa.  "[They] are very much developing nations, so challenges (technology, for example) lay ahead," Carbullido says, "I'm really excited about the project."

Prior to working for PAC 6, Carbullido spent time working in the Monitoring and Evaluation Unit of Katrina Aid Today (KAT).  As part of a team of three, she visited thirty-one states, reporting on best practices of a standardized case management process, conducting focus groups with survivors, and ultimately submitting "The First Year in Review" (March 2007), to FEMA.

This motivated alum looks forward to more exciting, demanding research, which is often informed by her DU education.  Says Carbullido of her work for PAC 6, "I referenced the Evaluation Roots textbook we used in [QRM] class!"
