Higher Education Associate or Full Professor

The University of Denver's Morgridge College of Education invites applications for a tenure track position (associate or full professor) in Higher Education.  

We seek applications from transformative individuals who have an outstanding record of research and scholarship; successful teaching; community engagement and service; a demonstrated commitment to access and equity in higher education; success in generating external funding; and experience working with diverse populations.  Preference will be given to candidates with research expertise in any of the following areas: access and equity in Higher Education; leadership; organizational theory and practice; and public policy.  Familiarity with the social and political context of public education is a plus.  Responsibilities include maintaining an active research agenda; teaching graduate level courses; advising doctoral students including dissertations; and establishing partnerships with community agencies and other external constituents.

The University of Denver is the oldest independent university in the Rocky Mountain Region. The university is located in the city of Denver, which is quickly becoming one of the most ethnically diverse cities in the U.S.  Census data shows that Denver's population includes 11.1% Black or African American, 31.7% Hispanic or Latino, and 2.8% Asian American.  Situated in this vibrant metropolitan community, the University is committed to building and sustaining a culturally diverse faculty, staff, and student body. The Higher Education program is one of several academic offerings in the Morgridge College of Education (MCE), which currently enrolls 800 students in its 22 degree (MA/MLIS, EdS, and PhD), licensure, and certificate programs. (Please visit http://www.du.edu/education/).

Minimum qualifications:  The successful candidate must possess an earned doctorate in Higher Education or a related field. We also expect this person to have an must be eligible to meet expectations for tenure at the level of associate or full professor, and must have a strong commitment to inclusive excellence and demonstrated experience working with diverse populations.

Preferred qualifications: The successful candidate will have a strong interest in working with programs that connect higher education across P-20 settings and with community stake holders.
