Morgridge College of Education Staff

Amy S. Bechtum

Assistant Director, Curriculum and Instruction (abechtum@du.edu).  MS, Colorado State University, student affairs in higher education; BS, University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, mass communications/public relations. Primary Responsibilities: Manages program functions for all Curriculum and Instruction programs, including MA/PhD degrees, Boettcher Teachers Program, Teacher Education Program (TEP), Combined Licensure and Masters Program (CLAMP), Dual Undergraduate/Graduate Degree Program, and Gifted and Talented Education (GE); supervises program staff; coordinates student recruitment and retention; develops and manages budgets; maintains accuracy in student handbook and website; collaborates on course sequencing and scheduling, advises students, contracts with adjunct faculty, supports teaching and learning, and manages daily operations.

 

Wendy Bickford

Program Coordinator, Buell Early Childhood Leadership Program (wbickfor@du.edu). Wendy received a Masters in Child, Family, and School Psychology in the Spring of 2007 from the Morgridge College of Education at the University of Denver. She is currently working with Smart Start Colorado's Evaluations and Outcomes Task Force to complete a crosswalk of early childhood standards. She brings knowledge of current early childhood system building efforts to this position. Not only is she thrilled to continue building connections in the DU community, but she feels fortunate for the opportunity to work with such an amazing group of fellows, faculty, and community partners who are committed to the Buell Early Childhood Leadership Program.  Wendy will serve as the Program Coordinator, bringing extensive experience with early childhood standards and Colorado ECE state systems.

Primary Responsibilities: Maintains program files; creates contracts and tracks program budgets; maintains program information and student handbooks; updates course syllabi and tests; coordinates events; orders course materials; supports teaching and learning.

 

 

Janet Erickson

Director, Office of Admissions and Enrollment Services (jerickso@du.edu). MSS, BA, Business Management Certificate, University of Denver; applied communication  Primary Responsibilities: Supervises the administration of all functions (marketing, recruitment, admissions, retention, events, alumni outreach) of the Office of Admissions and Enrollment Services; coordinates financial aid; organizes information and orientation sessions; manages comprehensive exams and graduation.

 

 

Nick Heckart

Program Assistant, Library and Information Science and Quantitative Research Methods Programs: (nheckart@du.edu). BA, Art, University of Iowa, Teacher Licensure - Iowa. Primary Responsibilities: Responsible for supporting teaching, learning, and research of the faculty, as well as assistance with student recruitment and retention, maintaining the accuracy of program information in student handbooks and on the website, assisting with course scheduling, processing fiscal transactions and partnering in the effective management of departmental budgets, and assisting with all student services.

 

 

Megan Kennedy


Enrollment Services Coordinator, Curriculum and Instruction (ci@du.edu). Ed.M. Smith College; elementary curriculum and instruction; BA, Saint Mary's College; elementary education and psychology. Primary Responsibilities: Support recruitment, admissions, and student services for students in Curriculum and Instruction, including MA/PhD degrees, Boettcher Teachers Program, Teacher Education Program (TEP), Combined Licensure and Masters Program (CLAMP), Dual Undergraduate/Graduate Degree Program, and Gifted and Talented Education (GE). Participate in information sessions, open houses and other recruitment events. Assist in the development of enrollment projections, policies, and procedures, and maintain accurate student data. Manage student files; track progress of students through their programs of study; certify students for graduation.

 

 

Beverly Kohl

Technology Coordinator and Admissions Assistant (bkohl@du.edu). MA Lesley College; BA University of Denver; technology, English, and education; Teacher Licensure. Primary Responsibilities: Maintains software and hardware in the Morgridge College of Education; coordinates audio/visual needs and the work of technology assistants; updates and maintains the college's web site; manages space utilization; supports course scheduling and enrollment services.

 

 

Priscilla Lehman

Director, Budget and Planning (plehman@du.edu) BA, Metro State University; business and education. Primary Responsibilities: Manages the preparation of the Morgridge College of Education's annual budget; carries out all budget reallocations; handles fiscal transactions; monitors budget versus actual expenditures; provides leadership on budget responsibilities to all staff within the college; prepares financial reports.

 

 

Karen F. LeVelle

Payroll and Accounting Assistant  (klevelle@du.edu)  Primary Responsibilities: Ensures that Morgridge College of Education personnel are paid accurately and in a timely manner, maintains personnel files, process new hire paperwork for all new employees, provides support in all Morgridge College of Education accounting and fiscal management, primary support for the Director of Budget and Planning, provides support in all areas of facilities management, arranges for telephone orders and line changes, and manages key inventory and distribution.

 

 

Linda D. McCarthy

Enrollment Coordinator, Office of Admissions and Enrollment Services (educadm@du.edu). Primary Responsibilities: Processes applications and admissions; manages student files; tracks progress of students through their programs of study; certifies students for graduation.  Linda has been with the University of Denver for more than 25 years!

Jodi Smith

Admissions Coordinator, Office of Admissions and Enrollment Services (jodi.smith@du.edu). BA, University of Northern Colorado; journalism/mass communications, emphasis in public relations. Primary Responsibilities: Support recruitment, admissions, financial aid, and student services in the Morgridge College of Education. Participate in the organizing of sites and materials for information sessions and open houses and other recruitment events. Assist in the development of enrollment projections, policies, and procedures, and maintain accurate student data. Provide support for the administration of surveys, data gathering, and organizational reporting.

 

 

Sandy Snyder-Mondragon

Primary Responsibilities: Manages the administrative infrastructure; leads marketing, recruitment and retention efforts; oversees enrollment services; coordinates administrative personnel; participates in the execution of all aspects of the strategic plan and financial management of the college; manages course scheduling processes; promotes internal and external communications.
