Buell students dialog with Lt. Governor Barbara O'Brien

The vision for the Buell Early Childhood Leadership Program is to promote quality in the early care and education (ECE) system in Colorado through the design and implementation of an innovative early childhood leadership graduate certificate program. This unique partnership has been enthusiastically embraced by staff and faculty in the Morgridge College of Education, Clayton Early Learning staff and co-faculty, and key ECE leaders in Colorado. The first group of highly esteemed students, known as Buell Fellows, are already exceeding expectations by directly and immediately applying what they are learning in the program to improve the real world ECE settings in which they are working. The fellows have been paired with community leaders to serve as mentors, have completed over half of the courses specific to leadership in Early Care and Education settings, and have begun applying their knowledge through the careful planning of a capstone project. In late January, BECLP faculty, staff and fellows conversed with Colorado's Lt. Governor Barbara O'Brien and her early childhood team.
