Dr. Maria Salazar co-authors report: The State of Latinos in 2008
Dr. Maria Salazar is the first author and the lead faculty on the Agenda Latina project. They have had a huge response nationally, including an AP article, the Washington Post and El Tiempo Latino (Spanish version of the Washington Post) among others. The paper has also gone global in countries including Spain, Brazil, Portugal, Mexico, and more.
The faculty of the Latino Center is very excited to be traveling to Washington D.C. on September 22 to present its findings in the U.S. Capitol Building to members of the U.S. Congress, including representatives from Obama and McCain. The plan is to have the document in the hands of every member of the U.S. Congress. The Latino Center is also working with Azteca America, a U.S. based Spanish television network, to distribute the document and produce a show on the Agenda Latina to be televised nationally and internationally.
