Morgridge College of Education Dean Search
Morgridge College of Education Dean Ginger Maloney will resign at the end of the 2007-08 academic year, Provost Gregg Kvistad announced on Aug. 1, 2007.
In explaining her decision, Maloney said: "I have no specific plans for what might be next for me personally, but I know that this decision is the right one at the right time for me and for the college."
Maloney has headed DU's Morgridge College of Education since 2001. Previously, she was executive director of the Sturm Family Foundation.
"The Morgridge College has made extraordinary progress under Ginger's dynamic leadership," Kvistad said, noting that the college is one of the nation's few named education schools.
The Morgridge College is in the midst of a $35 million campaign resulting in a new building, Ruffatto Hall, which will break ground in fall 2008. The college recently founded the Institute for Early Learning and Literacy, which will focus on applied research in language and second-language acquisition and literacy skills in young children.
