The Child, Family, & School Psychology program, which stresses serving children in the context of their families and communities, teaches students about psychological factors that influence human development and learning. Students can be prepared for licensure as school psychologists through the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) conditionally approved EdS degree program, or for professional careers in a broad range of educational, medical, research, or treatment-oriented service systems serving children from birth through age 21. The program offers a distinctive opportunity to interested students to develop a specialization in early childhood education.
The curriculum emphasizes strategies for supporting and intervening with children and families with diverse needs, as well as policy development, research, and program development and evaluation.
