Certificate in Gifted Education

The certificate is designed to be completed in approximately two years. Teachers completing the program would receive a graduate certificate in gifted education from the Morgridge College of Education and be prepared to take the Gifted Education PLACE Exam, a requirement for the endorsement.

Leading the way

The University of Denver has long been a pioneer and leader in the professional development of educators and practitioners interested in the education of gifted and talented children and youth. Course instructors include Morgridge College of Education faculty, adjunct faculty members, guest experts, and leaders in gifted education.

Students interested in continuing on for a master's degree after completing the certificate program may apply for the degree in Curriculum & Instruction with a concentration in Gifted Education. This degree completion option allows students to apply all the credits of their certificate program towards a 46-credit-hour master's program. A separate application and admissions process is required for this master's degree option.
