Dual Undergraduate/Graduate Degree Courses
Students interested in the Dual Degree Program will begin with their DU Foundation and Core course requirements, as well as major and minor requirements, if applicable, in their first two years as undergraduates at DU.
In their third year, they will continue with undergraduate requirements, plus a sequence of three service-learning courses through the Morgridge College of Education. These courses introduce students to the field of education and expose them to urban school environments with a focus on culturally and linguistically diverse students. Hours earned during these service-learning courses may count toward the 100 hours of supervised experience required for formal admission into the program.
After admission into the program, students participate in 40 credit-hours of the Teacher Education Program, which includes 13 weeks of student teaching.
Their fifth and final year of the program includes 12 credits of advanced graduate coursework in education, and 24 credits of elective courses in education or completion of any remaining undergraduate requirements.
