Teacher Education Program
The Teacher Education Program (TEP) is an intensive, 52 quarter-credit-hour academic experience designed for individuals who already hold a bachelor's degree and seek a Colorado teaching license. Adding to its appeal, all post-BA students admitted into the program are eligible for a half tuition scholarship. Program highlights include:
- Year-long intensive field experience in Denver metro area K-12 schools
- Core faculty teaching classes
- Theory/practice integration
- Emphasis on urban schools, special education, gifted education, culturally & linguistically diverse learners, leadership, and assessment guided instruction
TEP offers the following options for licensure:
- Elementary Education (grades K-6)
- Secondary Education (grades 7-12) with endorsements in the following subject matters:
- English Language Arts
- Math
- Science
- Social Studies
- Art Education (grades K-12)
- Music Education (grades K-12)
- Foreign Language (grades K-12 Spanish)
Students in the program will earn a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the Morgridge College of Education. These courses are offered in the evening so that students complete their master's degree during their first year of teaching.
