Life on Campus
Although our students are kept busy with coursework, community projects and family objectives, you will find many nonacademic opportunities to stay active with Morgridge and DU. We have a number of student organizations and an array of sports, fitness, and recreational activities.
Colorado is a bright, sunny place most of the time. Tied with San Diego, we average 300 sunny days a year. In fact, the average temperature in Denver, which is 30 minutes from the mountains, is 65 degrees. Sometimes, it's warm enough for shorts in January! Given the dynamic city of Denver, the endless ways to have fun or just relax around this beautiful state, and the scenic, active campus, you are sure to have everything you need to unwind and maintain a healthy work-life balance.
Most Morgridge students live in apartments or houses off campus or close to campus, although there are those who prefer to live in graduate student housing. Still, our students consistently and frequently take advantage of all the campus has to offer, including the libraries, career services, disability services, the Center for Multicultural Excellence, and the Newman Center for the Performing Arts, to name a few.
The new light rail system, with a stop on the DU campus, and excellent public transportation system in Denver and surrounding suburbs has made it possible for many of our full-time students to forego the costs associated with owning and maintaining a car while in graduate school.
As a prospective graduate student, we expect that where you live is extremely important in your decision about which school is best for you. Whether you are single or partnered, with or without children, we want to assist you by providing as much information as possible during this process. Please feel free to call us at 303-871-2509 or toll free at 800-835-1607, or e-mail us at edinfo@du.edu should you need further assistance.
