The Alternative Break in Nicaragua, in its 5th year, focuses on the Fair
Trade coffee movement, history and politics of Nicaragua, and implications
of the Central American Free Trade Agreement. AB Nicaragua participants will
have the opportunity to live with Nicaraguan families, practice Spanish, and
work closely alongside coffee farmers and local Non-Governmental agencies.
The application deadline for the 2007 program is May 16, 2007. Applications
should be downloaded from this site and emailed to engage@du.edu with a hard
copy submitted to the Center for Community Engagement and Service Learning,
Suite 22 in Driscoll South.
Program dates are November 26 to December 11, 2007.
Program cost is $1900 and includes airfare, food, lodging, and
transportation in country.
