Information about Study Abroad
In general, keep the following considerations in mind if you desire to graduate "on time" and wish to take part in the Study Abroad experience:
- The student will need to be "on track" with the chosen degree program at the time of studying abroad.
- The host institution must offer appropriate courses; that is, those required for the engineering program followed.
- It is also highly advisable to select an institution in which the language of instruction is English unless the student is a native speaker of the language of instruction.
- It is, in general, not possible to complete an engineering degree and the MBA in five years if Study Abroad is also included.
Engineering students must be especially careful in planning this experience because of the highly restrictive and sequential nature of engineering curricula. Carefully plan this experience in close conjunction with the department and with the Study Abroad Office. The departmental contact is Dr. E. R. Tuttle. Engineering students wishing to study abroad should contact Dr. Tuttle early in their programs.
