  • AHUM 1000 (4 qtr. hrs.)

    This foundational requirement exposes students to the perspective of the arts and humanities. Each student will take two foundational arts and humanities classes to complete the requirement (8 hours). These classes promote students' engagement with ideas, texts and creative expressions to help them recognize the power of these expressions to shape human experiences. Students reflect critically on multiple perspectives and their impact on human history, diverse cultures and the world around us.

    SOCS 1000 (4 qtr. hrs.)

    This foundational requirement exposes students to the perspectives of the social sciences. Each student will take two foundational social science classes to complete this requirement (8 hours). Each course explicitly addresses the interaction between human conduct and the context/environment in which that conduct occurs, the character of knowledge in the social sciences and how that may or may not differ from the character of knowledge in other fields, and how the subject matter of the courses is relevant for understanding one or more contemporary social problems.

    Matrices, systems of linear equations, vectors, eigenvalues and eigenvectors; idea of a vector space; applications in the physical, social, engineering and life sciences. Prerequisite: MATH 1750 or equivalent. 4 qtr. hrs.

Engineering Design Project I

  • ENGR 3313 (4 qtr. hrs.)

    Planning, development and execution of an engineering design project. The project may be interdisciplinary, involving aspects of Computer, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. Projects have economic, ethical, social, and other constraints, as appropriate. Design activities include: 1) preparation of a problem description including quantitative objectives and criteria for success; 2) generation and analysis of alternate designs, and choice of best design; 3) formulation of test procedures to demonstrate that the design chosen meets the criteria for success and testing of the completed project where feasible; 4) reporting on the design and testing. Prerequisite(s): senior standing in engineering.

Engineering Assessment II

    Students in ABET/EAC accredited curricula must register for and take the Fundamentals of Engineering Examination (FE) and complete an engineering exit interview. Students will also complete other Assessment related tasks during class meetings. To be taken in the last Spring quarter of attendance.
