Earth Day Network Earth Day Network is the nonprofit coordinating body of worldwide Earth Day activities.
Gristmagazine.com , a project of Earth Day Network, is an online magazine tackling all things environmental. The site is informative, entertaining, provocative, and encourages creative thinking about environmental problems and solutions.
My Links of the Month, every month this site gives a number of links to web sites on environmental subjects. There is also an archive of past months' links
World Resources Institute WRI provides information, ideas, and solutions to global environmental problems, and uses knowledge to catalyze public and private action.
Worldwatch Institute Fosters the evolution of an environmentally sustainable society by conducting inter-disciplinary non-partisan research on emerging global environmental issues.
Pew Center on Global Climate Change A non-profit,non-partisan and independent organization dedicated to providing credible information, straight answers and innovative solutions in the effort to address global climate change. Thirty-two major companies, with most included in the Fortune 500, are working together through the Center to educate the public on the risks, challenges and solutions to climate change.

U.S.Government Sites

National Climatic Data Center NCDC is the world's largest active archive of weather data. NCDC produces numerous climate publications and responds to data requests from all over the world.
National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) The U.S. Department of Energy's premier laboratory for renewable energy and energy efficiency research, development and deployment.
National Council for Science and the Environment (formerly The Committee for the National Institute for the Environment–CNIE)
National Science Foundation An independent agency of the U.S. Government, established to promote the progress of science; to advance the national health, prosperity, and welfare; and to secure the national defense.
US Environmental Protection Agency Government agency's website, includes policies, documents, and information on environmental programs and initiatives.
US Department of Energy Government agency that seeks to foster a secure and reliable energy system that is environmentally and economically sustainable, to be a responsible steward of the Nation's nuclear weapons, to clean up our own facilities and to support continued United States leadership in science and technology.

International Organizations

United Nations Environment Programme — UN organization that encourages partnerships in caring for the environment by inspiring, informing, and enabling nations and peoples to improve their quality of life without compromising that of future generations.
United Nations Framework on Climate Change The site provides Parties, representatives of observer organisations and others interested in the UNFCCC process, with a one-stop source of news, data, information and documents.
World Business Council for Sustainable Development A coalition of some 140 international companies united by a shared commitment to sustainable development, i.e. environmental protection, social equity and economic growth.
World Bank
International development assistance organization that uses its financial resources, highly trained staff, and extensive knowledge base to help each developing country onto a path of stable, sustainable, and equitable growth in the fight against poverty.
World Wildlife WWF directs its conservation efforts toward three global goals: protecting endangered spaces, saving endangered species, and addressing global threats.

Global Reporting Initiative An international, multi-stakeholder effort to create a common framework for voluntary reporting of the economic, environmental, and social impact of organisation-level activity.
Green Cross International Organization founded by Mikhail Gorbachev to help create the conditions for a sustainable future by cultivating a more harmonious relationship between humans and the environment.

The Science Plan of the International Human Dimensions Program for work on "Industrial Transformation" has been issued. The plan covers topics related to industrial ecology, consumption, urbanization and a variety of other topics. It is intended to help guide the research agenda for the international community interested in these issues.
