The European Studies Certificate Program

The Certificate in European Studies brings together the expertise and resources at the University of Denver in a program offering students the opportunity to focus their attention on Europe in a guided and orderly manner. Faculty in the Departments of Languages and Literatures, History, Political Science, Economics, Geography as well as the Graduate School of International Studies and the Daniels College of Business participate in the program.

The study of Europe from an interdisciplinary perspective facilitates the application of disciplinary knowledge to problems of the area and provides a focus for course work across the major and minor. The certificate provides students with a credential to demonstrate to employers and graduate schools that they have a geographic area of specialization in addition to a disciplinary major and minor. Therefore, it should prove useful to students planning to enter a variety of careers in government, business, education, and international organizations.
