Catering and Alcohol Policies

Please note that all food or beverage served at an event on campus must come from an approved caterer, such as DU Catering (Sodexo) or KSHM.

Alcohol may only be served by a licensed bartender (i.e. TIPS certified) who is an employee of the approved caterer working at the event. Events in non catering-exclusive venues that involve liquor sales (i.e. cash bar) require a Liquor License from the City and County of Denver. However, if alcohol is only served and not sold (i.e. host bar) a Liquor License is not necessary.

The following venues have exclusive catering and alcohol policies.

In non catering-exclusive venues, you may always use DU Catering (Sodexo). If you would like to use a different caterer, please ensure that they meet the 3rd party vendor insurance requirements outlined by Risk Management.

If you are unsure about catering or alcohol policies in the space you have selected, please contact the appropriate Building Representative to double check these procedures.
