Risk Management Requirements

In order to reduce the risk to the University, certain events may require a Risk Assessment. Click here for more information on the Risk Assessment process.

Working With Third Party Vendors

Insurance is a mechanism to protect the interests of the University of Denver. Insurance provides a mechanism for DU to recover for injury or damage that an outside party is legally obligated to pay. Such obligations could occur if an outside party injures an employee, student, or guest; damages DU property; or damages personal property of an employee, student, or guest.

To determine what insurance your third party must have see the University’s Insurance Standard Terms and Conditions.  Common insurance required for events includes general liability, host liquor liability, workers’ compensation, and automobile liability including garage keepers for valet services.

To request insurance from a third party, please refer to the Risk Management website and complete the Certificate of Insurance (COI) Request Form.
