Living and Learning Communities

Do your friends roll their eyes when you talk about saving the environment? Do they change the subject when you discuss world politics? Perhaps you need the company of like-minded pals.

You'll find those fellow travelers in a DU living and learning community. Each LLC revolves around a specific theme, and participating students share living and academic experiences related to that theme. LLC students live on the same floor of a residence hall, take seminars related to their LLC's theme, and participate as a group in various events and projects. DU offers LLCs in the following areas: Creativity and Entrepreneurship, Environmental Awareness, International, Pioneer Leadership Program, Social Justice, and Wellness. Students from any major—including students who are undeclared—can join an LLC regardless of its theme. To learn more about DU's Living and Learning Communities, visit www.du.edu/livinglearning.

Inside the Creativity and Entrepreneurship LLC

The drive to create characterizes movers and shakers across the disciplines. It fuels the entrepreneur who envisions a new business, the writer who plots the great American novel, the scientist who dreams of a vaccine for AIDS.

DU's Creativity & Entrepreneurship LLC brings together students with an impulse to create. The LLC provides a fresh perspective, allowing its members to go beyond what is to uncover what could be.

How You Live:
Twenty-two ambitious and creative first-year students live on the same floor in Johnson-McFarlane, forming a dynamic and diverse community. Students make lifelong friends, not to mention professional connections.
How You Learn:
Each quarter, members take a 2-credit-hour seminar focused on building business savvy and understanding and cultivating the creative process. Seminars incorporate team building, improvisational theater, business etiquette, leadership and mind mapping. Outside of class, excursions and impromptu events keep the creative juices flowing.
