Orientation

student asks a question during orientation

The University works with all new students to provide an orientation program that helps students make the best possible start to their experience at DU.

First-year and transfer students

DU's Discoveries program consists of workshops, computer classes, presentations and discussion sessions that last throughout the first week on campus. First-year students are placed in a group of 15 to 20 other first-year students, and each group is led by a current student who answers questions and talks about life at DU. Transfer students participate in a similar program customized for transfer students.

After Discoveries ends, the office of First- and Second-Year Experience helps students with study abroad, off-campus housing, career services and more.

Graduate students

Each graduate program offers its own specialized orientation for new students, and the Graduate Studies office oversees a range of services.
