Partners in Scholarship (PINS)

PLP

Students in DU’s Pioneer Leadership Program (PLP) do more than study leadership in the classroom—they live it every day.

Students Software Helps Identify Jane Does

Care to investigate the taste buds of a rat or the sex life of a sea urchin?

Want to delve into the work of William Morris or the novels of Toni Morrison?

Eager to compare the dimensions of democracy to the trials of totalitarianism?

Inquiry is at the heart of a University of Denver education. And thanks to our Partners in Scholarship program, undergraduate students get the chance to structure and conduct research projects and creative endeavors that complement classroom interests.

PINS supports student-faculty collaboration and research by distributing grants every fall, winter and spring. The application process is competitive, so only the most carefully conceived projects receive funding.

The University Honors Program

For some students, learning goes well beyond attending class, preparing assignments and studying for exams. For them, learning is about engaging ideas and crossing disciplinary boundaries.

The four-year University Honors Program gives qualified students the opportunity to contemplate the deep thinkers of different disciplines, to challenge the conventional wisdom, to explore the human condition and to exchange ideas with professors and peers.

DU Honors students represent all disciplines and pursue their majors while taking specially designed courses that generally cap at 15 students. Honors students also have expanded opportunities for independent study programs.

All qualified students admitted to DU are invited to apply to the Honors Program.
