DU Suicide Prevention Project receives $300,000 grant

(July 28, 2015) The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration awarded the Campus Suicide Prevention Grant to the University of Denver Suicide Prevention Project. DU will receive this $300,000 grant over three years to advance a comprehensive approach to preventing suicide among our student body. The DU Suicide Prevention Project aims to prevent suicide attempts and deaths among DU students by increasing system capacity to support inclusive and comprehensive mental health and substance abuse prevention and treatment services. This will occur through policy development; training activities for students, families, faculty and staff; provision of educational programs and materials; and tactics to enhance student connectedness. An interdisciplinary Mental Health Task Force will be convened in the fall to oversee these efforts.

Rocky Mountain Land Use Institute: Call for proposals

Campus Safety launches Officer Liaison Program

(July 21, 2015) The Department of Campus Safety seeks internal and external partnerships to promote and maintain a safe, secure environment conducive to learning, living and working at the University of Denver. To help accomplish this goal, Campus Safety has launched an Officer Liaison Program. This program pairs Campus Safety officers and personnel with various groups and departments across campus to collaborate on projects and provide a forum for a deeper level of engagement between Campus Safety and campus groups. Nominate student leaders for research project

(July 14, 2015) The Student Organization Event Task Force is seeking nominations and applications for student leaders (undergraduate or graduate) for a weeklong interdisciplinary project to develop resources and simplify the student organization event planning process. Selected student leaders will work during the week of Aug. 3-7 in the following paid roles: campus relations specialist, research specialist, content developer, editor, event planner and Web developer. Qualified students will have experience planning events on campus and have skills in the areas for which they have applied. Please submit nominations to or by Wednesday, July 22 at 4 p.m.; include the student’s name and a brief description of his or her leadership role.
