(Dec. 22, 2015) Friday, Dec. 18 was a celebratory day for the Daniel Felix Ritchie School of Engineering and Computer Science and the Knoebel Institute for Healthy Aging, as students, faculty, staff and donors gathered for the placement of a 60,000-pound dome atop the new 110,000-square-foot engineering and computer science building. The structure is scheduled for completion before the start of the 2016 fall quarter.

(Dec. 15, 2015) The Staff Advisory Council will be hosting their annual coat drive from Feb. 1-15, 2016. There will be drop-off locations around campus accepting all winter items including coats, gloves, hats, scarves, blankets, kid’s winter weather coats, accessories, etc. If you update your winter weather gear this season, donate your old gear to our friends at Denver Rescue Mission. Mail Services and Central Receiving holiday hours
(Dec. 8, 2015) Mail Services will remain open Monday-Friday during the University’s winter break. If you have a package that needs to be picked up on Thursday, Dec. 24, call 303-871-2329 by 2 p.m. and we will deliver it to your office. Central Receiving will be closed from Friday, Dec. 25 through Sunday, Jan. 3. UPS and FedEX will hold packages at their facilities during this time. Contact the carrier for pick up instructions.
Reminder: Mail Services and Central Receiving are moving Dec. 11
(Dec. 8, 2015) The current mail services and central receiving building located on S. Vine St. will be renovated over the next several months to house the Shared Services Center. As a result, Mail Services and Central Receiving are permanently moving to an off-campus warehouse on Dec. 11, 2015. This move will not affect your day-to-day interactions with mail, receiving or purchasing; these groups will continue to provide the same level of service to which the campus is accustomed. Shared Services prepares for January rollout of Kronos time and attendance system
(Dec. 1, 2015) Jan. 25, 2016 is the target date to roll out Kronos Workforce Timekeeper as the official time and attendance system at the University of Denver. On that date, all hourly employees will use Kronos to input their time and attendance, eliminating paper timecards and manual data input of time information into Banner. The Shared Services Center is working behind the scenes now, to develop training for supervisors, job aids for employees who will use the system and ensuring that information about the new system is shared with organizations and the more than 2,000 employees who will begin using it in January. Faculty have a range of funding possibilities, and staff whose work involves international strategic partner Lund University can also apply. There are specific requirements for each category of grant, including letters of support, project outlines and a detailed budget. Women’s Leadership Council seeks donations for The Gathering Place
Accepting donations through Dec. 4
(Dec. 1, 2015) The Gathering Place is Denver’s only daytime drop-in center for women, children and transgender individuals who are experiencing poverty or homelessness. DU’s Women’s Leadership Council is collecting donations of new toiletries, new socks and underwear for women or children, non-perishable food items of any type, or checks (made out to The Gathering Place). You can drop off your donations at either Linda Kosten’s office (Mary Reed 201B) or Karen Riley’s office (Dean’s Suite, Ruffatto Hall 320) anytime between now and Dec. 4.
