Get to know the administrative side of DU: All about University Hall – Undergraduate Admission
(Oct. 6, 2015) Undergraduate Admission makes the main floor of University Hall its home. Their main task is to market the University well, recruit dynamic students and ensure an excellent incoming first-year and transfer class.
Undergraduate Admission works with prospective and admitted students from the point of inquiry, through the application process, to students’ decision to attend the University. Through various marketing campaigns and recruitment efforts, Undergraduate Admission reaches out to prospective students and acts as a main contact for students that express interest.
This past year, Undergraduate Admission received 21,151 applications, just over 15,000 of whom completed their application for full consideration, and enrolled an incoming first-year class of just over 1,400 students.
Undergraduate Admission employs 14 admission counselors who are broken up by territory; the counselors work with prospective students and applicants from their assigned regions. Each counselor travels and recruits throughout their territory, acts as the main University of Denver contact for their students and reads approximately 1,000 applications per year! Undergraduate Admission is also home to a number of enrollment specialists who are charged with processing all of the application materials.
Additionally, Undergraduate Admission hosts prospective students and families on campus through a variety of visit programs. Last year, they hosted over 15,000 visitors! From daily visits to Chancellor Preview Days for admitted students, there are numerous visit options for prospective students and their families to choose from.
