The 15th annual Diversity Summit will be held the evening of Thursday, Jan. 21 and all day Friday, Jan. 22. Speakers and theme to be announced. Please mark your calendars and avoid scheduling any other events on these dates; the entire University of Denver community is encouraged to attend the Diversity Summit.

Call for proposals: Seventh annual Co-LEADS Student Summit

Friday, Oct. 2, 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. – Auraria campus

The Co-LEADS conference gathers college students from across Colorado for discussions of social justice, activism, advocacy and social change. Students participate in large group activities and smaller workshops that challenge, grow and inspire them to make change in their own lives and their communities. This year, the summit will explore the theme: “From Tweets to Streets: Intersections of Mass Media, Social Media and Social Justice.” DU students, faculty and staff members are invited to submit workshop proposals.

You are invited to bring a lunch and join the Center for Multicultural Excellence and campus partners as we participate in a national webinar with Rev. Dr. Jamie Washington, the president and a founder of the Social Justice Training Institute and the Washington Consulting Group. Washington will provide strategies for engaging in best practices that meet the needs of our diverse student body so we can educate students about what constitutes racist speech and action, respond to incidents swiftly and effectively when they do occur, and adjudicate incidents effectively and fairly. Please RSVP
